Gran Turismo 5 release date revealed

Categorized Under: News

Earlier today on Polyphony Digital’s website it was revealed that Gran Turismo 5 is due for a late 2009 release date. The news article on the site also suggested the game will feature a mammoth 1000 cars. For the first time in a Gran Turismo game there will also be official NASCAR and WRC races integrated into the main GT mode. Strangley enough though, the article has now been removed been from the Polyphony Digital website. Hmm we wonder why?! :s

A fairly deceiving title if you ask me. Almost everyone knew it was due for a late 2009 release date– the title suggests the exact date has been announced. Disappointed, slightly.

Do guys like you go around trolling on sites for a living or something?! The title is not deceiving at all. It states a release date was officially today by the games developers (Polyphony Digital), even though if the article was pulled a couple of hours later. Quite a few major sites were reporting the news (1UP, Eurogamer and so on) so it is news. Do you have proof that “almost everyone” knew the release date was offically at the end of 2009?! Please provide me with evidence of this. If you're disappointed go cry to your mummy and stop trolling on our site. Ignorant, arrogant child.

I'm with you, Alex, a real teaser. People who live under bridges shouldn't throw trolls…

  • mbk

You'd think a story titled “Gran Turismo 5 release date revealed” might actually, ya know, have the release date. And yes, I don't own a game system and I knew GT5 was set for late '09.

  • AsimTanvir

Oh you knew for sure did you that it would be released in 2009. A much delayed game, one that has been pushed back many times, you knew for sure that it would be released in 2009? Seems like you work for Sony or Polyphony Digital if you knew for sure. Maybe you can tell me when Gears of War 3 is out? Maybe even Killzone 3? Seems like you are the man who knows for sure.

The article doesn't claim to know the EXACT release date, if you actually read the words that are written (I know it might be hard for you to do that) you will get your information. The title is “release date revealed”, late 2009 is not an exact date but it is a date you illiterate child.

  • AsimTanvir

You both seem to have a problem with the article but still you chose to “waste” you time and effort commenting on it. Is it only me who sees the irony of the situation?! Idiots.

  • alex

There is absolutely no other site saying “Release DATE revealed!” While some of the information (like the number of cars/tracks) is news worthy, I believe the title is deceiving enough to illustrate yellow journalism at it's peak in order to attract others to click on this site as opposed to the more credible, accurate ones. As for the “trolling”, “do you do this for a living” comments, I clicked on this and noted a flaw in the article's title– which is notably the most important phrase of an article, and should DEFINITELY be accurate. It's not. I complained.

There's a difference between detailing a complete and utter lie (the title), and going around trolling– AKA, saying things like “If you're disappointed go cry to your mummy and stop trolling on our site. Ignorant, arrogant child.”

No Dan, it is only on the PlayStation 3. Wait! Before I get called a liar again, GT5 will be available on the PlayStation 3 but there will be Gran Turismo released for the PSP in October. Oh no look what I did, telling porkies again. The PSP version will be released October 1st 2009, I don’t know the exact time but ask one of these lot cos they seem to know everything inside out. Thanks for commenting though Dan.

Fine on the name calling and stuff but I still am adamant there is nothing whatsoever wrong with the article of the title. If the première GT site (http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5s-q4-2009...) can report the news then why can't we do it?! Like I said, there is no exact release date revealed from Sony/Polyphony Digital but it they have pretty much officially confirmed it will be released late 2009. The 2009 dates being thrown around before we all rumour and not fact or official. If you want us to report rumours and totally unconfirmed stories in the future.

What sort of world do you think this is?! One where you can openly criticise someone and they won't defend themselves?! Well sorry folks, you are living in dream world.

I'm with Alex amd MBK, it's my first time on this site and I actually don't comment much, anywhere. But I think theyre right. I'm a big GT fan and I was expecting to get an actual release date from your story titled “Gran Turismo 5 release date revealed”.

After reading the article in its entirety, which has good information, I still didn't get what I was looking for so these guys have a point. No need to get defensive/offensive.

We'll take it on board for future reference. Thanks for your input guys. =)

  • Dan

    is it on Sexbox?

  • AsimTanvir

No Dan, it will only be released for the PS3. Oh no wait, I must be 110% exact now. Gran Turismo 5 will be only available on PS3 but there will be a version coming to the PSP in October. Ah dammit, I did it again. Don't wanna be called a liar now again so must correct myself. The PSP version will be released October 1st 2009, I'm afraid I don't know what time but asking one of the guys above and they should inform you. Thanks for you question/comment though Dan.
