I Want To Be The Best

Everyday I scan the App store looking for what I consider to be top Apps and Games, and I think I’ve stumbled over another one. From the folks at TT Fusion comes Guinness World Records: The Videogame, for the iPhone. Now we are know what the GWR’s are but this instalment on the iPhone really does take it to another level.
Packed with 36 outrageous challenges ranging from crushing watermelons with your head, to the highest BMX jump, to popping balloons this game contains hours and hours of gameplay.

Avatars and Mii’s, we all know what they are, and we all like them because it makes the gaming experience more personal for us. Well that’s the idea, but for most people including myself it’s for others to take a good look at the person who just gave them a lesson in gaming. GWR has an extremely in-depth character customization that really does make you feel like your creating your Mii all over again. Choosing your gender is just the beginning, you then have control over hair styles and colour, clothes, eyes and even eyebrows. And if that wasn’t enough you can spend in game points to purchase new clothing items.

Once your character looks cool enough to take on the world you can go to the game select menu, and even this is something to behold. Lets face it selecting a game type from a drop down menu just doesn’t cut it any more. Your character is standing on top of the world as if he/she own its and with a touch of the finger your character will mover around the different continents, where you will find landmarks. At each landmark there’s a variety of challenges, however it wouldn’t be any fun if you can just try them all out. Instead you need to complete the basic challenges and earn money to purchase the others.

Now this is where I think it gets interesting. We’ve all done online gaming, and we’ve all claimed to be the best, well now you can prove it. GWR has a revolutionary leader-board system that uses your location. Not only does it tell you if you’ve set a PB (personal best), it also ranks you Regionally, Nationally and Globally. So even if your not quite the best in the world yet, you might just be the best in your region. If you think you can topple more dominoes than me then give it ago, I’m currently holding the Regional Record.
One more thing that make GWR a must buy, you can have up to four players competing against each other at the same time on the same iPhone, multiplayer gaming on the iPhone, bring on the system link gaming next!
