Sony has today announced that a digital reader will be launching on the PSP sometime in November. To coincide with this news Sony also unveiled a deal with Marvel that will see hundreds of their comics being available to read exclusively on the PSP. Ira Rubenstein (Marvel’s VP of digital global marketing) was on hand to announce the deal and explained that content available on the service will range from well known stuff like Spider-Man and Hulk to lesser known indie titles. Just for you purists out there the content will also contain old classics aswell as the latest releases. While this might not be a huge deal for some people I think this is a pretty good deal for Sony and it shows they are really trying to push the PSP after a not so great showing over the last couple of years outside Japan. Most gamers are certainly into their comics and if the pricing is right for the service then it could do pretty well.
