PS3 Slim officially announced
Introducing, the PS3 Slim.
After months of speculation, just a few minutes ago at the Sony GamesCom conference Kaz Hirai finally officially announced the arrival of the PS3 Slim. The new model will be available in stores from the first week of September. Functionality wise it will be exactly the same as the current PS3’s but will have a 120GB hard drive. Obviously it is called the PS3 Slim for a reason so it will be 33% smaller and 36% lighter than the current models. The console will cost 29980 yen, $299 and 299 Euros. The same prices will also now apply to the current 80GB PS3 models. No official price in pounds was announced but reports suggest it will be retail for around £250. As soon as we get any sort of confirmation we will let you know.
