The long awaited Dragon Age: Origins downloadable contentReturn To Ostagar has been released for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game with the PS3 version to follow soon. Return to Ostagar is the first official non release day DLC for Dragon Age which was originally planned for  release during the 2009 holiday season. Bioware have definitely had some bad luck with two missed launch dates and a pirated version of the content available weeks before official release, but it is now officially here!

It’s all in the name really, Return to Ostagar will see players return to the battlefield where the King along with his armour were lost. The DLC is bite sized and will set you back the measly sum of $5 or 400 Microsoft Points. GodisaGeek.com has you covered with a full review coming soon.

New Crysis 2 Scans Revealed

We all know the original Crysis was a PC destroying monster in its day. If you could squeeze out more than 26fps out of your system on the highest graphical setting at the time you could consider yourself lucky forcing even the most ardent PC gamer to shell out some well earned “moolah” for an upgrade. So it’s no surprise that Crysis 2 will look sexy as hell whenever it is released. Even so some of these screens are impressive, especially considering this title will be making its way to consoles as well (hurray for Cry Engine 2). Hit the jump and check them out for yourselves.

Gearbox and 2k games have been giving their fans a tonne of new DLC for Borderlands in a very short space of time as of late. With the impending arrival of their latest DLC release “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx” , which is said to be the largest for the title to date equipped with new enemies, missions, more guns and extra items to collect  they have decided to repackage the existing DLC.

What this means is that if your a fan of having hard copies of all you games then you can hop on down to the shops and pick up a disc based version of the previously released “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned” and “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot on the 23rd of February for PC and Xbox 360. Sadly the yet to be released “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx” will not make it onto the disc and there is yet to be any word of a PS3 version.

Modern Warfare Patch v1.08 Causing Problems

Patch v1.08 is now available to download for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Europe. The patch contains fixes for the care package and the Elevator glitches as well as the 10th prestige glitch hack. A US patch is currently in the certification process and should be available soon.

It seems that patch 1.08 causes lots of problems for the PlayStation 3. Many people can’t play normally online because of freezing problems. Robert Bowling has tweeted that Infinity Ward are working on the issues with Sony, saying, ”However, we are aware of several users reporting freezes once connected to games. We are currently working with SONY to identify the source of this issue.”

Changelog:

  • Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
  • Fix for “infinite care package” exploit.
  • Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
  • Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
  • Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
  • Fixes to prevent various XP hacks.

Game: Dark Void

Developer: Airtight Games

Publisher: Capcom

Available on: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC (reviewed on Xbox 360)

2010 has got off to a great start with quality releases such as Bayonetta and Darksiders, both games managed to dazzle and delight in equal measure. Any game released on the back of those two titles would have its work cut out to catch the attention of gamers across the globe; Dark Void is that game. Dark Void combines aerial and on-foot combat with the a strong emphasis on vertical gameplay, which also happens to be the games unique selling point. The question is though, does it stand tall amongst the best or does it just fall flat on its face?! Read on for the full review.

EA Gives us FIFA Online!

EA have recently revealed that FIFA online will be making its way to the west. Our Asian brethren are no strangers to this title but only recently has it been stated that it would see the light of day on European shores. FIFA online is a free to play, web based PC game that EA are adamant will appeal to football fans and not just gamers.

The game consists of three game modes, World Cup. League and Versus and will give you access to all those FIFA stats EA have been accumulating over the years. This includes 30 licensed leagues, 500 teams and 15,000 players and will be running on a modified version of the FIFA 10 engine.

As is common place with these sorts of games there will be a closed beta available for the title next month and an open beta taking place in June. EA have high hopes for their “new” baby and have said they hope for it to build a large online community (we’ll believe it when we see it). So if this sounds like your cup of tea keep an eye out for a chance to get in on that beta action.

Lich King Horse Only For 25 Man Raiders

Blizzard have released the “Invincible Rising” feature confirming that “Invincible” the undead mount of Arthas will be available for lucky players that can defeat the Lich King on the heroic difficulty setting. What the feature does not explain is the fact that the epic mount will only be available in the 25 man version of the Icecrown Citadel raid dungeon, which of course has lead to some questioning to why this bonus item is not available in the 10 man version and accusations that Blizzard favour the 25 man mode which offers many more rewards than the 10.

Blizzard are pretty good at responding and community manager Cygil was on hand to give this reply to the on going thread: “Blizzard loves 10-person content guilds just as much as we love 25-person content guilds. The reason for having this mount in the 25-person Lich King encounter has to do with maintaining the proper distribution of such awesomeness. If it were available in the 10-person encounter as well, it may become too prolific and lose some of its initial unique qualities.

I have to agree with Cygil as most 25 man raiding guilds tend to run both the 10 and 25 versions of the raid, allowing for multiple opportunities to obtain the mount making it a little too common in the long run. It would seem the simple solution of only allowing one version of the raid to be run per week would stop the larger guilds from farming the lesser content, perhaps something for those guys with the most successful MMO on their hands to think about.

Grand Theft Auto Episodes to hit PS3 and PC

First of all, no the article title is not a typo. Now that that is over with it would seem Microsoft’s exclusivity deal with Rockstar has finally run out. As the rest of the gaming world will now be able to get a slice of the fantastic episodic content that has been released for Grand Theft Auto IV since its release.

“It’s been a long time coming, but we are proud to finally deliver Episodes From Liberty City for the PC and PlayStation 3,” said Sam Houser. “We appreciate the patience of our PlayStation 3 and PC fans worldwide, and we look forward to putting the games in your hands this March.”

If your wondering when you can get your hands on this juicy bit of content then don’t as both pieces of episodic content will be available on disc on March 30th or downloadable via your respective online service. Kotaku have stated that the PS3 version is priced at US$39.99, and the episodes are individually available on the PlayStation Network for $19.99 each. Unfortunately as of writing there has been no information on UK or European pricing but we will be sure to keep you informed.

Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker gets delayed!

If you anything like me you look forward to anything Metal Gear Solid like an obsessed crack addict desperate for their next fix. Sadly for our Japanese neighbors the delicious looking  Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker has been delayed in Japan.

The title had originally been scheduled for a 18th of march release date in Japan but sadly won’t see the light of day there for another month on it’s release date of April 29th. Fear not though as we have been assured this will not affect the scheduled releases for other regions (phew). This might have something to do with the fact that the European version was scheduled for release a full two months after the Japanese title to begin with (damn you Konami!).

Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker hits shelves May 27 in Europe (May 28 in the UK) and on May 25 in the US.

More Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition Mercenaries Gameplay

With Resident Evil: Gold Edition around the corner Capcom have released some more gameplay trailers for their new Mercenaries reunion mode. The first video is of Excella Gionne strutting her stuff and her eccentric poses wouldn’t look out of place in a Bayonetta cut-scene. Secondly we have footage of Josh Stone showing us he can kick as much ass as Chris Redfield and look semi decent doing it, taunting and suplexing his way though a pack of Manjini.

Make of it what you will but the GodisaGeek team will most definitely be looking forward to the two extra chapters that accompany this reinvigorated mercenaries mode. Lost in Nightmares(one of the extra chapters) and the first costume pack will be available online starting February 17th for the Xbox 360, and February 18th for the PS3. Another costume pack and the second DLC episode will be arriving March 3rd.

Hit the jump for the footage.
