God is a Geek Podcast: The Virtual Beautiful Game – PES and FIFA

Pro Evolution Soccer (Winning Eleven in Japan and America) and FIFA, these are the two titles that have been (and still are) synonymous with the gaming representation of football. Numerous other titles have entered the fray but after all is said and done only these two titles have remained, battling each other for genre supremacy. The battle between the two has been interesting to say the least, watching how they have developed and become what they are now.

At the moment FIFA is sitting pretty at the top of the genre, but it hasn’t always been like that. PES used to be the football game of choice and FIFA was just a pretender. What happened?
