Case Zero – rising from the dead in August

Capcom have announced that Dead Rising: Case Zero, will be released exclusively on Xbox Live on August 31st. Costing 400 Microsoft Points (approximately £3.40), the tale is a prequel / tutorial to Dead Rising 2, set three years before the action in the sequel, and two years following the fallout from the first game and the case at the Williamette Parkview Mall.

It will introduce us to new character Chuck Greene, and his daughter Katey trying to escape from backwoods town, Still Creek, which has – surprise, surprise – been overrun by zombies. As well as acting as a prologue, the game will also introduce players to some of the new game mechanics – such as the much-vaunted “tape everything”, which allows for weapons and objects to be taped together to create new means of attack and new power-ups. All experience points and collectables earned will also be transeferable into the full game upon its release.

Dead Rising: Case Zero will be released on Xbox Live on August 31st for 400 Microsoft Points.

Still Creek sure looks... still.
