With a month or so left until PES 2011 and FIFA 11 are finally released, our usual football experts Aryel and Asim get on the mic to record a very special PES 2011 vs FIFA 11 podcast. Having played pre-release code of both games, in this podcast they compare key aspects such as passing, shooting, defending and goalkeeping. The opinions of the GodisaGeek colleagues are certainly interesting and something football gaming fans don’t want to miss. So, what are you waiting for? Hit that jump and treat you ears to some quality football gaming discussion.
You may remember me from video features such as the Cataclysm Beta and HowToStarCraftII.
My gaming upbringing was a mixture of NES, SNES and Megadrive before my brother decided to convert to the church of PlayStation.
Nowadays I have my own cash and own all of the major consoles and a top of the range gaming PC. Dropping a grand to upgrade my PC is not a huge decision, it's a requirement! If you can't find me on the PS3 or 360 then I am probably on my PC playing the latest MMO, RTS or FPS.
I think the Pes Franchise has really stepped up this year making Major changes with its extra features that will be fun to use. Thing Is Fifa 11 will not be different to Fifa 10 rather than Pes 2010 to Pes 2011. Well although it doesnt have kits and stuff i find Pes design looks more human than fifa. Pes Gets My Vote This Year ^_^

I've always preferred PES for the simple fact that it is more fun to play. Its funny because back in the day PES would be the simlation and FIFA would be the arcadey game people always complained about. But its come full circle because PES is now more arcadey but in a good way because it is just so much more fun to play. While FIFA continues with the gimmicks (not a year goes by when it had a sound-bite to advertise or launch) PES has been steadily refining and improving its game. Of course the switch to next gen consoles has not been kind to PES – Even Seabass would admit to that, but finally it looks like they have sorted it out and have produced the game we all wanted 2 years ago! FIFA had also got better but it was bound to. Lets face it, years ago FIFA was about as good as a smack in the face, so it could only get better, whereas PES was always the smarter kid in the playground, who understood how to weight a pass properly, so there was only one way to go for it – down. Hopefully that blip is behind them though and they are now “back” as you say. Its almost impossible to compare the two anyway as its all about opinion and some will always prefer one to another. I for one have always preferred PES and have not been seduced by the glitzy, machine that is EA sports with its official stadia and online stats updates etc. All good features but its really not an issue anymore, now that the mighty option file for PES gets better and better every year. So in conclusion its great to have PES back, and if online master league is as good as it looks on paper, then many wives and girlfriends will not be seeing their men for a long long time over the next year!

It has been like 4-5 years since last gen games. I think it’s about time people stop comparing PES to FIFA of past generations. You sound like a Liverpool fan. Living in the past but the glory days have long gone. FIFA are not doing gimmicks, they are the ones steadily refining a fantastic game. I don’t know how u can even consider PES more fun than FIFA. Last generation yes, but for several years. NO! And I am not a fan boy. If and when PES gets back on top, I will be the first one to write these kind of remarks to FIFA fan boys. I will play and support the better game. The PES demo this year is very disappointing: it is STILL not even really a current gen game.

Well the actual game is now out and i dont even need to say anything. It is even BETTER than the demo and online master league on its own blows FIFA out of the water. And thats not even mentioning the far superior passing and shooting in PES. Enough said.
