by on October 19, 2010

After the well recieved launch of Blacklight Tango Down on Xbox Live Arcade and PC, the game has finally gotten a release date and price for Sony’s PlayStation Network!

The game will be released on the 3rd of November and will be priced at £9.99.

Obviously the market for first person shooter games is a crowded one, but at £9.99 the game is definitely worth a look if you fancy something different for a change.

With the release of the PSN version, there will also be some exclusive features such as “the addition of a Join-in-Progress option, which allows players to team up with their friends and enter matches without having to wait for an intermission.  Rewarding players who have been patiently waiting for the PSN launch, the game offers the same non-stop fun and an exhilarating experience that the previous versions delivered including numerous multiplayer maps, seven game types, four co-op missions and literally trillions of weapon combinations”

From the press release:

“Fans flocked to Blacklight over the summer because the game offered the most extensive array of gameplay and features ever brought to the DLG venue —for just 15 bucks,” said Jared Gerritzen, Lead Designer at Zombie Studios.  “Now with full updates, brand-new content and the ability to Join in Progress, PSN players will truly see the game at its best.”

The recipient of rave reviews throughout the summer – including Game Informer declaring it “stands apart from the pack,” Machinima branding it “an extremely solid first-person shooter at a bargain price,” and PC Gamer US stating “it feels nothing like a budget shooter” – BlackLight: Tango Down is set to provide PSN gamers the same wild ride that XBLA and PC gamers have been on for months.

In Blacklight: Tango Down, players are equipped with high-tech, futuristic gear that makes combat fascinating and surreal. Its weapon customization system allows for trillions of different configurations that deliver unlimited adaptability and variety of gameplay.  Each player is also equipped with a Hyper Reality Visor (HRV), an advanced imaging system in the player’s Heads up Display that detects nearby enemy and friendly forces and relays the information back to players, giving them immediate battlefield intelligence”

More details on the PSN exclusive content are to be released shortly.

Blacklight Tango Down is already out on XBOX 360 and PC, and is due for release on the 3rd of November on PSN.
