GT5 6.4GB Install Is Optional
Building on our story from last week about GT5 taking up 6.4GB of hard disk space, we have learned that the option is actually optional and not a requirement to play the actual game. According to Sony, however, even if you choose not to install any data at the beginning of the game there’s a built-in auto-install feature that does it in incremental chunks.
Installing the optional data makes the loading times throughout the games much faster, so you would rather spent more time racing then waiting we recommend you install the optional data. If not, your use of the game will eventually install all the data the game needs to load quicker anyway.
