Plants Vs. Zombies Confirmed For PlayStation 3

It is certainly a case of better late than never for PlayStation 3 owners as the smash hit title from Popcap Games – Plants Vs. Zombies – is finally being slated for release on the Sony console. Sony Online Entertainment have jumped on the bandwagon and revealed it will be hitting the PlayStation Network shortly, despite the game already being available on almost every other platform under the sun. In fact the PS3 won’t be the last to join in the fun, with the Nintendo DS version not available in the United Kingdom until March 4th.

The game is a twist on regular Tower Defence titles which sees you protecting your home and garden from a lethal Zombie invasion – using only what you can grow with your own green fingers. As well as the regular Tower Defence modes, the game features a whole host of mini games, such as Zombie Bowling. There are also endless survival modes to play – most of which can be sampled in co-op modes with another player. And rounding off the package there are also a range of Versus modes which will allow players to pit their skills against other gamers. The game has already won numerous awards and it is good to see that PlayStation owners are going to finally get the chance to try it out.

Plants Vs. Zombies is due out on PlayStation 3 in February. No exact date has been announced as of yet – check back here soon for more details. In the meantime, why not whet your appetite and read our review of the Xbox LIVE Arcade version here.
