Razer Introduce The Switchblade – PC Gaming On-The-Go

by on January 7, 2011

Hot off the CES 2011 floor, Razer have announced the development of an innovative concept design based on the Intel Atom processor, in an attempt to bring traditional PC desktop gaming to a super portable device. The new Intel Atom powered concept model, codenamed “Razer Switchblade”, brings a  unique design to the table replacing the standard keyboard and mouse with a multi-touch screen and dynamic keyboard.

Words cannot do the Razer Switchblade justice, check out the screens after the jump!

As you can see the Switchblade looks like a very cool device, the dynamic keyboard changes game to game with spells and abilities from games such as World of Warcraft displayed on the keys themselves!

The Switchblade certainly has potential to bridge the gap between tablets such as the iPad and small gaming laptops, the device supports Windows 7 and a number of top PC titles . The concept device is rather small lending itself well to short bursts of gaming on the go and with WiFi and 3G included, it is easy to imagine using Razer’s new concept to complete a few MMO daily quests and farm some herbs for the evening’s raid, on-the-go.

At this time the Switchblade is a concept device and will not be released to the public in its current state, instead Razer will be using the Switchblade concept to produce similar retail products.
