GAME Offering Pre-Orders On Pre-Owned Games

by on March 4, 2011

In a move that is sure to “delight” developers and publishers around the world, the UK’s leading video game retailer, GAME, has now started taking pre-orders on pre-owned games. Their website is currently offering pre-orders for pre-owned versions of Fight Night Champion, Crysis 2, Dragon Age II, Shift II: Unleashed, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2012, Homefront, WWE All-Stars and Virtua Tennis 4.

The majority of the pre-owned versions are £16 cheaper than the RRP, which sounds great, but they only offer a £3-£6 saving over a pre-order of the brand new version. Also, the release date of all the pre-owned versions is a week after the brand new version.

According to MCV, these eight titles are part of a trial being carried out by GAME, but one can only wonder what the consequences of this scheme might be if it is successful and gets approved. Whatever the outcome, we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
