Mafia II To Get A Director’s Cut

by on March 31, 2011

Despite its disappointing sales figures and its relative failings with critics, 2K Games are releasing a new re-packaged version of their Godfather-em-up Mafia II across several formats, which will incorporate all of their previously-released DLC. There will be retail releases of; Mafia II: Director’s Cut on PC, Mafia II: Greatest Hits on PlayStation 3 and Mafia II: Platinum Hits on Xbox 360. They all amount to the same basic package, with three expansion packs and some new outfits & cars also thrown into the mix.

The exact contents will be:

– The full retail release of the game

– The Betrayal of Jimmy expansion

– Jimmy’s Vendetta expansion

– Joe’s Adventures expansion

– Four Style Packs (Vegas, Renegade, Greaser and War Hero) each consisting of two cars and two suits for in-game use

2K Games say that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation versions are available already at selected retailers, with it rolling out to other stores throughout April. The PC version has no definite release date, but will be forthcoming in the next couple of months. Price is also yet to be confirmed, although it is noted that in North America it will be retailing for only $29.99, the equivalent of around £20. For all of that content – plus the main game – the game sounds like a much more attractive prospect than when it was first released.

Mafia II was released in August 2010 for Xbox 360, Windows PC and PlayStation 3.
