by on May 27, 2011

Disney Intractive have announced that they have a new title in the works known as Disney Universe, which is billed as a fast-paced multiplayer action adventure game. The title is being developed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC/Mac. icrosoft, and Windows PC/MAC. The game sees players putting on suits that represent 40 of the most well-loved Disney and Pixar characters of all time, in levels and worlds inspired by the films of the Walt Disney Company. In order to help save the universe as we know it, players will have to power up their heroes, battle powerful adversaries and master challenging puzzles along the way.

Senior vice president of publishing, Disney Interactive Media Group, Adam Sussman, explains that; “Disney Universe is a vast treasure chest of Disney properties with memorable characters, places and experiences that gamers, as well as Disney fans will enjoy… The fast-paced, frenetic gameplay combined with wacky humour and hilarious situations make Disney Universe the perfect game to play with family and friends”

Character costumes range from classic Disney animated feature characters such as Alice from Alice in Wonderland or Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, to Pixar heroes like Mike Sullivan from Monsters Inc, or even live-action film stars such as the heroes from the recent TRON: Legacy film. Each character costume possesses specific tools and skills that can be used to help in different situations. There are also six different worlds inspired by legendary Disney and Disney Pixar films to explore and each world is filled with missions and quests based on the storylines of those famous films. Up to four players can work together in the multiplayer element, that is suitable for all ages. Disney also plans new content and add-ons to be released after launch, so the game can be expanded further.
