If you’re as old as some of the writers here at GodisaGeek.com, it won’t seem like two minutes have passed since the original release of Final Fantasy XI, the first venture into the online RPG universe for the popular franchise.

Well, it’s back…

Square Enix Ltd. today announces Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition, a complete package of all Final Fantasy XI content released to date. The special launch commemorates the 9th anniversary of Final Fantasy XI, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) with a large population of players spread across Europe, North America, and Japan. The launch opens the game’s world to an even broader audience.

Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition includes all four expansions, from the forerunner Rise of the Zilart to the recently concluded Wings of the Goddess. It also includes all add-on scenarios, namely, A Crystalline Prophecy – Ode of Life Bestowing, A Moogle Kupo d’Etat – Evil in Small Doses, and A Shantotto Ascension – The Legend Torn, Her Empire Born. Also included are the add-on battle areas Vision of Abyssea, Scars of Abyssea, and Heroes of Abyssea.

All purchases of the Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition include the Destrier Beret, an in-game item loaded with bonuses to help new players get started, and which is pretty adorable to boot!

Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition is now available for download for Windows from Steam, Nexway and Metaboli, priced £17.99 / €19.99.
