Will We Soon See Portal 2 DLC?

by on August 3, 2011

When Valve Marketing Guru Doug Lombardi announced that the company would be working on DLC for Portal 2, and aimed to have it ready for a summer 2011 release, the gaming community didn’t hold its breath. Valve-time is something we are all used to, and a Valve release window is very seldom set in stone. However, this week brings news that could mean big things for any further Portal add-ons or content. Ellen McLain – the singer and voiceover artist who made a name for herself portraying the evil computer GlaDOS – has gone back into the recording studio.

In a Tweet from her husband, John Lowrie, we found out that; “Ellen is going in Tuesday for a new game and more Portal work”. Of course, more Portal work could be for the aforementioned DLC, for a completely new game, for comic or cartoon work – or anything at all. This is purely speculation, but when linked with the earlier announcement that DLC would be on its way, it would make sense to assume that the team are working on putting audio into the add-on content. As is always the case with Valve – they will announce more details when they are ready, and that could be a long time!

Portal 2 is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Mac.
