Crytek and EA have decided that console gamers need more Crysis and that is exactly what you are going to get according to todays announcement by the publishing giant. The orginal Crysis will be coming to Xbox LIVE and Playstation Network, but you wont be getting a bog standard port, oh no! You will be getting a graphically enhanced version of the title with Crytek’s CryENGINE 3 under the bonnet, sporting all new lighting, effects and other visual optimizations.
“We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis.We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality – and still is for many gamers even four years later,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek. “By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.”
If you listen closely, you can hear PC gamers shouting “WHAT THE FUDGE!”. Let the platform rivalry banter begin! Oh wait, it never stopped.
Crysis will be going for £15.99/$19.99 SRP or 1600 Microsoft Points and hitting your download service of choice next month.
