Fruit Ninja takes a Slice of the Christmas Gift Action

fruit ninja logoFans of the Halfbrick-developed fruit-slicing title – Fruit Ninja – can now rejoice in the fact that they will be able to purchase licensed merchandise based on the hit game. The Australian company has partnered with toy makers ToyFoundry to produce a small line of plush characters inspired by the series, for fans to enjoy – and what do you know, they are coming just in time for the Holiday Season! What luck!

First on the slate are plush versions of the Sensei – your fruit-chopping master and trainer, as well as his arch-nemesis, a ninja Watermelon. You can even opt to go for a real battle pack, where you get both foes together, and you can pit them against one another in Mortal Kombat. The characters really capture the spirit and style of the games, and the website promises more new merchandise to come in the future.
Not everything will be available in time for Christmas unfortunately, but fans of the game will be able to come face-to-face with their Sensei before the end of the year, if they want to.

With the success of the many lines of Angry Birds merhcandise we have seen lately, as well as the Mario ones that are ever-popular, it would be interesting to see even more of our favourite gaming characters get the plushie treatment. A Ratchet and Clank double-pack? Kratos, with a severed head in one hand? An aging Solid Snake, who coughs and wheezes when cuddled? The possibilities are endless…
