Irrational Games’ New Podcast with Booker & Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite

Irrational Games’ series of podcasts, Irrational Interviews, is always fascinating. It’s so interesting to hear Ken Levine speak with such people like Cliff Bleszinski, Guillermo Del Toro and others. In the most recent entry into the series, Ken sits down with Courtnee Draper and Troy Baker who play Elizabeth and Booker respectively.

Three of the integral parts of Bioshock Infinite take submitted questions from Irrational’s fans and really go in depth with how the voice acting process occurred for one of 2012′s most anticipated games. There are numerous topics that are covered such as, the now famous, behind the scenes crying video.

The podcast also delves into creative director, Ken Levine’s apprehension with how Booker should be portrayed by Troy Baker and how scenes change from the page, to being performed by the two primaries of Bioshock Infinite. Courtnee Draper speaks about how the “gamey” aspect might go over her head, but that the medium is exciting. Troy Baker talks about how video games are the most exciting way to tell narrative at the moment and how some actors look at video games as a stepping stone. “This is it”, Baker states that he isn’t using games to propel his career to get him, “…a guest spot in CSI”.

In another really enjoyable podcast, Troy Baker and Courtnee Draper give the listener a little insight into working with Levine. With these podcasts, the screenshots, trailers, Bioshock Infinite is really shaping up to be a fantastic game.
