Soul Calibur V Characters Carved into a Swedish Mountain

Soul Calibur V Characters Carved into a Swedish MountainYou know the phrase, “[Insert name here] doesn’t do things by halves”, right? Well, this is the epitomy of that. To celebrate the release of Soul Calibur V, Pyrrha and Mitsurugi have been engraved in granite on a mountain in Tanum, Sweden…yes, you read that right.

Lee Kirton, the marketing director at Namco Bandai said, “Everyone knows the Soulcalibur characters are among the hardest fighters in gaming – so we’ve decided to immortalise them in granite for thousands of years…These characters have only ever existed digitally, so it’s brilliant to record them permanently in a format which remain visible until the end of time.”

Göran Andersson is the man respnsible for making Pyrrha and Mitsurugi’s images immortal. “This is the by far most complex and detailed engraving I have ever performed…But it was very fun to do”. He is a stone engraver by trade and has engraved other notable people in pop culture into stone like, Ingrid Bergman and he has also done the same for the kings of Sweden and Norway.

Now that’s marketing.
