It Turns out Skyrim’s Creation Kit is Popular

It Turns out Skyrim's Creation Kit is PopularSkyrim. The single word that made gamers weak at the knees in 2011. Last year it was the second best selling game overall, the average playtime for those in the fantasy RPG is 75 hours and the 360 version outsold all 360 exclusives in North America, and the PS3 version outsold all PS3 exclusives too.

It picked up GOTYs all over the place (not GiaG’s choice though), including last week’s Game of the Year award at the Interactive Achievement Awards which took place at the D.I.C.E Summit.

The Skyrim Creation Kit came out recently which is a free modding tool for PC players to manipulate the, ever-so engulfing world. Players all around the world have enjoyed uploading, downloading, and installing custom content for the game through the Skyrim Workshop on Steam.

In the first 3 days of the Kit’s release, people had uploaded 2,500 mods and over 2-bloody-million had been downloaded!!! And all mods are absolutely free!

There’s legs in the old dog yet.

As well as writing for GodisaGeek, Colm co-hosts a video game podcast called, The Game 'Shroom. He spends the majority of his days explaining why The Wire is the greatest TV show ever or clamouring for a Pop-Punk revival(c. 1994) whilst singing in his best Axl Rose voice. Do not say professional wrestling is “fake” around him or, he’ll bore you with, what he likes to call, “the risks they take”. A Henrik Larsson fanboy and a true connoisseur of homemade brown bread.
