The deal will see Right to Play receive a cash donation, Xbox 360 and Kinect hardware as well as software, collectively valued at over US$1 million, to help the charity’s community outreach programs.

Originally called Olympic Aid, Right to Play was started in conjunction with 1994 Winter Olympics in Norway. The charity’s aim is to improve the lives of children in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace.

Right To Play will be incorporated into Xbox’s forthcoming pan-European summer sports campaign on Xbox LIVE, as well as appearing as branding in Kinect Sports: Season 2 Basketball DLC.

Microsoft’s donation will go to help children in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Consoles will also be provided for ‘Play Day’ events held in the UK for underprivileged children.
