War of the Roses First Gameplay Trailer – And it is Brutal!

by on March 8, 2012

Paradox Interactive and Fatshark have today released the first gameplay trailer for upcoming multiplayer hack and slash action game War of the Roses, due this autumn on PC. When we say hack and slash, we really mean it..

The video is the first of a set of gameplay trailers dubbed the “Death Before Dishonour” series, that will be released at steady intervals leading up to the games launch. The trailer showcases the 3rd person action game in an early form, however we can still get a good idea at just how brutal this game is going to be. The game looks to play a lot like your usual multiplayer third action game, it just replaces the usual guns and firearms with swords, shields and maces.

Today’s trailer release comes hand in hand with the announcement that Paradox Interactive will be teaming up with Multiplay to ensure that the games online play is as smooth as it can possibly be. All this means is that cutting peoples throats this autumn will be a strictly lag free affair. We all know how much of a pain lag is when slaughtering people in the real world, right? No? Moving on..

The game will feature over sixty 15th century weapons to choose from, tiered skill tress with levelling up system and game modes for team players as well as soloists. All of this information is secondary, though, as the only thing that really matters is the ability to stab your fallen foe in the face – three times. Really. Check out the trailer, below. This ones not for you, kids.
