Yakuza: Dead Souls Hits PS3 This Week

SEGA has started off early in the year with some big titles, first Binary Domain now Yakuza:Dead Souls. Having already been released as Yakuza Of The End in Japan in June 2011, this long awaited sixth chapter in the Yakuza series hits North America and Europe this week as a PlayStation exclusive.

The game takes place in the Kamurocho district of Japan and features the main protagonist of the Yakuza series Kazuma Kiru as well as several Yakuza series mainstays. This time however Kazuma and the crew have a bit more on their hands than the usual burly gangsters to fight and pachinko playing to do. Japan has been overtaken by zombies and as we all know zombie takeovers don’t make for the happiest of afternoons. Add to that some one has decided to kidnap your step-daughter during this gory mess.

After the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force is decimated within one soldier, Kazuma along with three other playable characters: Shun Akiyama, Ryuji Goda of Yakuza 2, and Goro Majima are the only hope to stop the zombie menace to society. Zombies are not the only new thing that the Yakuza cast will see in this game, for the first time in a Yakuza game guns will be a major part of game play. Pistols, rocket launchers, machine guns and more will be at your disposal to exterminate zombies and hunt down those pesky step-daughter snatchers. Fans of the Yakuza series can finally look forward to the latest chapter of the series and go zombie hunting in style with Yakuza: Dead Souls.

Yakuza: Dead Souls will be available for PlayStation 3 on March 13th in North America and March 16th in Europe.
