Lost Planet 3 Announced

by on April 10, 2012

Lost-Planet-3-Announced Capcom have opened the flood gates with tonnes of new information regarding upcoming titles. One of the biggest announcements to come out of their annual Rome showcase was Lost Planet 3.

Players take on the role of Jim, a utility rig pilot who has left Earth to take on a hazardous but lucrative contract on E.D.N. III. Lost Planet 3 will feature both third-person and first-person combat. On foot players will experience tradition Lost Planet 3rd person gameplay, but will switch to first-person when taking control of the utility rig. The game will also feature a number of multiplayer modes, although no exact details have been given.

Previous Lost Planet games have received mixed receptions but Capcom hope to improve this with a number of key changes. The game is now being built using Unreal Engine 3 instead of MT Framework 2.0 and Capcom have also passed on the development duties to Spark Unlimited. Previously responsible for Legendary and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty the studio’s record is not the strongest, here’s hoping some internal reshuffling has been done.
