Now I’m sure you’re all to familiar with games getting pushed back, all to often publishers announce release dates they know they’re unlikely to hit. Today though is different, as Capcom break the mold by announcing Resident Evil 6 will actually be coming out earlier than we first expected. Resident Evil 6 will now be available on Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 2nd, with PC to follow shortly after. In fairness this is probably to avoid games like Call of Duty but either way it’s good news for us fans.

A few new multiplayer details have also emerged, Capcom have confirmed the game will feature drop-in drop-out cooperative play, meaning unlike in RE5 players will not have to restart the mission when a player joins/leaves. Mercenaries mode will also be apart of Resident Evil 6, although this time it will be available from the start instead of being an unlock.

Resident Evil 6 will now be available October 2nd on Xbox 360 and PS3, it will release on PC “shortly” after.
