Ashes Cricket 2013 Announced

by on September 25, 2012

It has not been a vintage year for the England Test side. Ring-smashed by South Africa, flare-ups with KP, and Strauss bowing out, not to mention our mixed fortunes in the other disciplines of the game. But all of that is irrelevant – what we really want is for our boys to complete a hat-trick of Ashes victories over the Aussies next year, and then beat them again on their own turf a few months later. Just imagine that, seeing us destroy them, perhaps leading to the end of Ponting’s career. What better way to prepare for this than with the announcement of a brand new Ashes cricket video game????

That’s right – 505 Games have today announced Ashes Cricket 2013, a new game featuring full endorsement from the ECB and Cricket Australia, that promises a cricket experience on home consoles just as exciting as the action taking place on the cricket grounds of England and Australia when the Ashes begin in July 2013. We are promised:

“ …the ultimate companion to the live action across the year. Game modes will reflect all the nuances of the international game across its many formats whilst truly capturing the passion and excitement of live matches. National rivalries, venues and player personalities are perfectly captured in the most advanced simulation of the sport yet, as participants fight for the pride of their nation in either solo play or with up to three friends in local multiplayer matches or take on the world online.”

It certainly sounds promising – we have been crying out for a new cricket title now for long enough – lets hope this is the real deal.

More details on the new title will emerge over the coming months and we here at GodisaGeek will be right here to report on it.
