First 20 Minutes: Ostrich Island

Have you ever wished that you could run around a tropical island, collecting eggs and attempting to escape all while being an Ostrich? Nope, me neither, but that doesn’t make playing Ostrich Island any less fun!

Ostrich Island, developed by the one-man band of MeDungeon Games, is a game where the main objective is simply to reach the end of the island and escape, however, if you want to rack up those points (and who doesn’t want to rack up lots and lots of points) then you’re going to have to do some exploring, in every single nook and cranny of the titular island, in order to find as many ostrich eggs as you can. There are lots of other little hidden treasures for you to find too, just to get that score a little bit higher, and the whole game is presented in an aesthetic that is pleasing to the eye and actually makes you want to stay on the island at times, instead of escaping.

The calming nature of the visuals doesn’t mean that the game’s easy though, not by a long shot, you’ll spend a great deal of time trying not to fall in the water, running away from the rising tide and avoiding a whole host of other hazards that dot the sombre looking, but entirely deadly, island.

Don’t take my word for it though, check out the video we created and see it for yourself:

Ostrich Island is currently looking for funding via Indiegogo so if you want to get a piece of the action for yourself, you should over there as soon as you can and pledge some of your hard earned cash to the cause.
