Nintendo Announce What Wii U Can do on Launch Day – Also Announces eShop Lineup!

Wii-U-Specs-Leaked?-The-Good-and-the-BadWith the launch of the next generation of home consoles now just one day away, Nintendo have revealed what features will be activated on Wii U launch day, as well as lifting the lid on the eShop line-up.

We’ve aleready taken a look at a couple of the Wii U launch titles here at GodisaGeek, both Nintendo Land and Super Mario Bros.U have gone down pretty well, but what can you expect to see outside of the disc based stuff on launch day? Nintendo has just revealed all, and there is quite a lot to get through so let’s get going.

When you boot up your shiny new Wii U tomorrow for the first time and get it online, you will be prompted to perform a system update that will enable the following features, the Miiverse, Wii U Chat, a dedicated Internet Browser as well as the Nintendo eShop, where you will find a host of downloadable games and treats that we will go through below. Additional apps like Netflix, YouTube and UPLAy are available to download via the eShop.

But what about the games, I hear you cry? Don’t worry, Nintendo have got that covered too. On launch day the following games will be available to download exclusively via download on your Wii U via the eShop;

Trine 2 Directors Cut: Trine 2: Director’s Cut takes you on an adventure through magical lands in this side-scrolling game of platforming, action and puzzles.To celebrate the release of the game on Nintendo eShop, Trine 2: Director’s Cut will be available at a special price until 31st December 2012. The game will then be available to download for €16.99 / £13.99

Puddle: Dive into award winning Puddle™ with 49 levels specially re-mastered for Wii U. Puddle™ is a physics game unlike any other where you guide a puddle of fluid by tilting the Wii U GamePad to the left or right. (€7.99 / £7.19)

Nano Assault Neo: You are one against millions. Stop the deadly Nanostray virus from spreading in the nano cosmos as you traverse a breathtaking microscopic world. Nano Assault Neo is an all-new, unique twin-stick style shoot ’em up game for Wii U. €9.99 / £8.99

Little Inferno: Throw your toys into your fire, and play with them as they burn. Stay warm in there. It’s been snowing for as long as anyone can remember! Burn flaming logs, screaming robots, credit cards, batteries, exploding fish, unstable nuclear devices and tiny galaxies. €14.99 / £12.99

Chasing Aurora Experience the dream of flight in Chasing Aurora, a physics-based 2D aerial action game. Up to five players fight in tournaments that span three disciplines. The single player mode is a race against the clock to unlock new levels. €11.99 / £10.79
