Mega Man Returns in Free 8-bit Street Fighter CrossoverRounding off Street fighter’s 25th anniversary, and gearing towards Mega Man’s 25th anniversary in 2013, Capcom has directed and supported a fan of theirs to develop Street Fighter X Mega Man. Singapore born Seow Zong Hui, a massive Capcom fan, has created the game, which will see Mega Man battle his way through eight Street Fighter inspired levels and bosses.

Along with that, to reflect the game’s old school look, fellow Capcom fan Luke Esquivel, is providing the music with mash-ups of classic Street Fighter and Mega Man tunes. SVP of Consumer Software at Capcom USA Christian Svensson, clearly sees this as a sort of “thank you” to diehards of the publisher’s games.

“Our fans have been so supportive of the 25th Anniversary efforts on Street Fighter, that we wanted to provide one last surprise and token of our appreciation. This game symbolizes the passion and dedication of our fans and with the 25th Anniversary of Mega Man coming up, we felt it was our duty to bring this wonderful experience to everyone who has shared the last 25 years with us and both of these celebrated franchises.”

Street Fighter X Mega Man will be coming to PC on December 17 and you’ll be able to download it for free at Capcom-Unity.com
