Cyanide’s PC Strategy Aarklash Legacy Gets First Screenshots

by on January 24, 2013

Cyanide Studios have revealed the first in-game screens for their upcoming medieval fantasy strategy title Aarklash Legacy.

Based on the universe of Confrontation – a role-playing game developed by now all-but defunct French company Rackham,- Aarklash Legacy is a “tactical adventure game… that puts players in command of a group of mercenaries on a perilous mission.”

Confrontation is a miniature wargaming universe similar to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000, featuring its own set of rules governing the relentless warring of the races of Aarklash. Cyanide Studios’ game takes the fantasy setting made popular by Rackham (so popular that even though Rackham have been in liquidation since 2010, several other companies have purchased its assets to continue the lines), and puts the player inside it, hiding the dice-rolling and number crunching inside the mechanics of an action strategy game.

Below are the first ever screenshots of Aarklash Legacy, due for release on PC later this year. They depict Behemoth and Acheron, two of the main game areas, as well as the main characters, Denzil, Nella and Vendaroon.
