XCOM-Enemy-Unknown-Second-Wave-Content-is-Free-and-Out-NowFans of the fantastic XCOM: Enemy Unknown (which I’ve now played, yes I know I’m late to the party) will be pleased to know that the second wave of DLC is available now for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. Best of all though? It’s free!

The second wave content follows on from the Slingshot Pack, and includes new gameplay options and that is sure to make for even more replayability in a game that already gives so much, here are the details:

  • Damage Roulette: Weapons have a wider range of damage
  • New Economy: Randomized council member funding
  • Not Created Equally: Rookies will have random starting stats
  • Hidden Potential: As a soldier is promoted, stats increase randomly
  • Red Fog: Combat wounds will degrade the soldier’s mission stats
  • Absolutely Critical: A flanking shot guarantees a critical hit
  • The Greater Good: Psionics can only be learned from interrogating a psionic alien
  • Marathon: The game takes considerably longer to complete
  • Results Driven: A country offers less funding as its panic level increases
  • High Stakes: Random rewards for stopping alien abductions
  • Diminishing Returns: Increased cost of satellite construction
  • More Than Human: The psionic gift is extremely rare

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC
