DmC’s Bloody Palace DLC Hits Next Wednesday

DmC-Bloody-Palace-Next-WednesdayDmC: Devil May Cry gets some free content on February 20 in the guise of Bloody Palace, a survival-like high score challenge mode. Developers Ninja Theory took to Twitter to announce the release date.

The mode puts Dante in a small arena and tasks you with killing waves of enemies against the clock. Kills gain you time – stylish kills moreso – so you will have to balance simple survival with quick kills. Ready the Arbiter!

Capcom have already confirmed, via their Unity Blog, that DmC’s Bloody Palace will contain more than 100 floors. Though they give no hints as the occupants of said floors beyond the terms ‘demon-crushing’ and ‘boss-rushing’ (rematches ahoy) they do describe the mode as “very challenging“.

Bloody Palace is a mode that has appeared in every Devil May Cry game since DMC 2. DMC 4’s Bloody Palace was unique in that while it was significantly shorter it included boss fights that weren’t part of the main campaign.

Speaking as someone who’s halfway through DmC’s Dante Must Die difficulty I can comfortably say that I hope Ninja Theory’s version will be more in line with DMC4’s version and have some surprises up its sleeve as, by this point in the DmC experience, getting rid of most the game’s enemies is, well, a tiddly bit easy. Only a week till we find out.

DmC: Devil May Cry is available now for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC.
