Dishonored Designer Harvey Smith Releases Semi-Autobiographical Novel, Big Jack is Dead
With game credits such as Deus Ex, System Shock and last year’s Dishonored, celebrated designer Harvey Smith has gone down a different avenue.
Smith has just released the semi-autobiographical novel Big Jack is Dead and by all accounts, it’s a terrific read. The story focuses on Jack Hickman who is a big software executive who discovers his father has committed suicide, whilst attending a corporate meeting.
The book flips between current day and Jack’s childhood as Smith tells a tale of a relationship between Jack Hickman and his tumultuous relationship with his father.
Seeing game designers broaden their horizons and enter other creative worlds is always good to see and Big Jack is Dead sounds like a fascinating story. You can pick up the book on Amazon and will cost you £8.69 for the paperback edition, or £6.89 for the Kindle version.
