The-Final-Chapter-of-Hotline-Miami-Will-Be-Set-in-the-90sOne of the most mesmerising and discussed titles of last year was Hotline Miami, no question. The banging soundtrack, neon look and unforgiving gameplay ensured that many games publications spoke about it for their year end awards.

A scheduled bit of DLC is taking shape as a sequel and developer Dennaton Games have spoken with Joystiq about the final chapter in the Hotline Miami story.

There are said to be some parralel plots with gameplay moving in varying directions, which could mean we get a different experience to the original. With news that Hotline Miami is coming to Vita, the developer said that they’re hopeful Hotline Miami 2 (or whatever it will eventually be called) will release on PC and Vita, day and date.

Jacket – the lead character from the first game – will be in the sequel in some form, although Dennaton has confirmed that he won’t be playable. The music will have a similar feel to the original, with some artists being used once again and some new ones for good measure.

The game – which will take place in the 90’s this time – will be, as stated earlier, the last in the series. Dennis Wedin (the first syllable of the studio) said:

“It’s the grand finale, for us”

Initially meant to be a one-off, but because of the popularity of Hotline Miami, Dennaton Games got to work on what will be the no doubt bloody, “grand finale”.

Hotline Miami is available now for Windows PC and will be released at a later date for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita
