Fuse Won’t Contain Microtransactions or an Online Pass

Fuse-Won't-Contain-Microtransactions-or-an-Online-PassIt saddens me a little bit that THIS is now considered news, although nowadays, it most definitely is.

With the norm now being that many high-profile titles include microtransactions, online passes and the like, Insomniac Games has announced that their upcoming shooter Fuse will have none of the aforementioned extras.

In an FAQ on the developer’s website, an Insomniac rep was was asked whether the game would require an online pass and they said:

“Nope. But, you should still buy it new to support us because there are no microtransactions to make up for it, though. :D”

Some time before the game’s release in May, a demo will be made available on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network giving potential buyers a chance to see if Fuse is for them.

How things have changed, huh? I remember when online passes were first emerging and a video game containing one was big news, yet now it’s the complete opposite. Personally, I’m delighted to see Insomniac announce this. I just hope that Fuse can be something worth talking about, once it finally comes out.

Fuse will be released on May 31 in Europe and May 28 in North America for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
