New Details and Trailer on Dead Island Studio’s Hellraid

by on May 8, 2013

Along with the brand new trailer that you can see below, Techland have spoken with Eurogamer Poland (via Eurogamer) about the upcoming Hellraid and we now know some details on the game.

As you can see from the trailer, this looks a tad bit more serious than their marquee Dead Island series. The game is a fantasy FPS RPG which also incorporates some horror. The studio are also using their Chrome Engine 5 – which is the same engine the developer used for their tropical zombie romp. Up to four can play co-op and choose from one of the following classes: Paladin, Mage, Rogue and Warrior.

Techland’s marketing director Pawel Kopinski told Eurogamer that the title isn’t attached to a publisher yet, but at a later date, they will be discussing potential partnerships with companies that “won’t impact Hellraid in a negative way”.

Hellraid is scheduled to be released on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 this year and looks a lot more promising than I would have anticipated, in all honesty.

Producer Marcin Kruczkiewicz also name dropped Quake and Diablo as games from days gone by that the team loved and it certainly looks like those titles have inspired Hellraid.
