EA Confirm That There Will Be No Tiger Woods or UFC Game This Year

by on May 8, 2013

It was rumoured a few weeks back that Tiger Woods would be leaving his clubs in the boot of his car for a year and it appears that may be the case. But, that’s not the only EA Sports title that won’t be showing up for a bit.

Speaking to Joystiq, EA has confirmed that Tiger Woods PGA Tour along with the UFC license that EA picked up in June of last year will not be released in the fiscal year of 2014 – which concludes on March 31, 2014. Normally, Tiger Woods PGA Tour titles have come out around March every year, but this statement from the publisher reveals that the series won’t be showing up at this time, at least. There could be a potential Tiger Woods release later on in the year, of course.

Both EA’s golf and MMA titles are apparently in development, so it would be wrong to completely rule out either for a mid-to-late 2014 launch. How EA handles the Ultimate Fighting Championship license will also be particularly interesting as the previous UFC games were under the THQ banner until Electronic Arts snapped them up for an “undisclosed cash payment” – according to the now defunct publisher.
