Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Features Open World-like Gameplay and is Out This Winter

by on June 6, 2013

At Konami’s pre-E3 show, a brand new trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 revealed that Dracula will be playable, this Winter.

Game director Enric Alvarez then explained how MercurySteam were eager to let players enjoy the game “organically”, rather than in fits and starts:

“In Lords of Shadow 2 you’ll be able to walk freely all over the game’s universe without loading times and with a very organic and real feeling.”

LoS 2 will see players roaming Drac’s castle, of course, but there is also a modern day city to peruse and amble around. The camera has been revamped and is now able to spin around the whole way – WOW! Of course, players of 2010’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will know that this wasn’t the case, before.

The game is said to be darker and was even described as “cruel” by Alvarez. You can check out the newly released trailer below, which shows that Patrick Stewart will be returning as Zobek. Kiefer ain’t the only Hollywood name to flap his gums on an upcoming Konami title.
