Fable Anniversary Officially Announced

by on June 5, 2013

After Lionhead Studios revealed a teaser trailer yesterday – which hinted at a Fable re-make – fans didn’t have to wait long to get more details about the project. The company have confirmed that they are indeed working on a high-definition version of the first game on the Fable series, which will be known as Fable Anniversary, and released on Xbox 360.

Fable Anniversary will be a complete graphical overhaul for the game, with high definition visuals, and the title will also include Achievements for the first time. To give fans a flavour of what to expect, Lionhead have released a few screenshots of the High-Def game, including one comparison shot between the old and new versions. You can really clearly see the improvements that have been made visually, and the addition of Achievements will give players who are familiar with the game something new to play for.

The Lead Designer on the project, Ted Timmins had this to say:

“We’re really excited to be bringing a re-mastered version of Fable: The Lost Chapters to the Xbox 360. It’s been one of the biggest community requests as we know how much the fans love the original game.”

You can also hear Timmins on the Major Nelson Podcast, talking about the new game. With the original Fable remaining perhaps the most well-loved of all in the Fable series, it will be fantastic to re-visit Albion – as it was first imagined. Rumours persist of Fable IV for the Xbox One, but Fable Anniversary will at least keep gamers happy until we know more about that.
