Infinity Ward will be looking after development of Call of Duty: Ghosts on both current and next generation hardware.

In an interview with Polygon, CEO of publishing at Activision Eric Hirshberg, said that the studio behind the massive Modern Warfare series and the upcoming Ghosts wants to bring some of the advantages of next-gen to the current crop of systems:

“We have the same development team working on the games for the next generation and the current generation, because what this ensures is that the current generation isn’t an afterthought or something that is just outsourced. We want to be sure that we consider the things that are the innovations going into the next generation of games that the current generation can benefit from.”

Earlier this week, executive producer Mark Rubin revealed to Gamespot that the game will also be coming to Wii U. After being announced, there was no word on whether it would arrive on Nintendo hardware and it was taken that Wii U owners wouldn’t get a CoD, this year, but they will – as will PS3, PS4, 360, Xbone and PC players.
