Nintendo Partners With O2 to Offer Free WiFi Access to 3DS Owners in the UK

by on June 5, 2013

3DS owners are already onto quite a good thing, what with the recent landslide of great releases. The little dual screened wonder is going from strength to strength, and Nintendo has strengthened the reasons to own one still further today with the announcement of a Nintendo / O2 hookup, which will allow 3DS owners to hop onto any one of O2’s numerous WiFi locations around the UK.

These include highstreet locations such as McDonalds, Debenhams, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee, House of Fraser, Toby Carvery as well as public venues such as The O2, Twickenham, Bluewater and the Central London boroughs of Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea.

If you’ve got the latest system update, all you’ll need to do it search for the hotspot, hit connect and your done. Online gaming on the move, sweet!

Gavin Franks, MD of O2 Wifi said: “This deal will enable Nintendo 3DS gamers to automatically connect their device to O2 Wifi whenever they are in over 7,000 hotspots across the UK’s top venues, restaurants and retailers. It’s a great example of how we’re delivering brilliant digital experiences for our customers.”

This can only be seen as good news for 3DS owners, and for us is just another excuse to take it everywhere with us.
