The Walking Dead 400 Days – E3 Hands Off

by on June 20, 2013

400 Days is an episode between seasons, that will bridge the gap between your choices in season 1, and the events of the upcoming season 2.

The stand-alone episode is based around a truck stop on a Georgian Highway, and will focus on five individual stories. Telltale Games informed us that the idea centred around the thought of “if this place could talk, these are the stories it would tell.” The characters shown in the Vine teaser trailers – Bonnie, Shel, Wyatt, Russell, and Vince – will each have a short story.

At E3 we watched a play-through of Vince’s story, which we won’t spoil for you, but we can tell you to expect more of what we’ve come to know and love from Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead. Each story is about 15 – 20 minutes long, so the whole episode should add up to the same length as an episode from the previous season.

The only problem with five short stories could be that we might not have enough time to form opinions of the characters in them, and that would be a shame, as that was The Walking Dead’s strongest point; character development. We’ll still have plenty of difficult decisions to make throughout the game, but will we care as much? That’s the question.

At the end of 400 Days, the stories will all be wrapped up and leave a few hints towards what we can expect to see from season 2.
