13-Minute Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Walkthrough Features Sea, Ships and Shanties

by on July 24, 2013

UbiSoft have released a full 13-minutes of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag that shows the open world pirate game in seamless motion.

Starting in a small fishing village the game soon migrates onto the sea, where Kenway attacks and boards a ship to steal some rum, the alcoholic.

We then see the weather system in glorious effect before it’s revealed that you’ll be able to unlock a slew of sea shanties for your crew to sing at sea. That’s my purchase confirmed then!

What follows is a stealthy infiltration of a temple in order to steal some buried treasure (treasure hinted towards by a map and no in-game HUD elements – nice). Kenway uses trees and gadgets to reach the treasure undetected.

It’s impossible to say the game looks anything less than gorgeous, I just hope that it manages to remain compelling over the full playtime. Assassin’s Creed games have a habit of falling into motions, but the amount of playstyles available here (stealth, ships, shanties) could do a lot to alleviate any repetition.

Check out the full gameplay video below and look forward to playing Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on whatever console you own towards the end of the year!
