New Trailer for Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved

by on August 15, 2013

Walt Disney’s 1940 film Fantasia was revolutionary in the fact that it was the first animated motion picture to ever be synchronised with classical music. Prior to E3, Harmonix and Disney Interactive Entertainment announced a new revolution, as Fantasia: Music Evolved will be coming to both Xbox One and Xbox 360 as a Kinect-based re-imagining of the spirit of Fantasia.

In a new trailer unearthed by VG24/7, we see how players will use the Kinect motion control sensor for the game, using it to interact with and control the music in-game, creating magical new audio-visual experiences. The game will feature over thirty modern and classic tracks that fans will be able to play with – creating their own Disney music videos and mixing the music as they go.

The premise sounds promising, but it we will have to wait to see just how much variety there will be and how much interaction/control players will actually have over the audio and visuals in-game. Also, one wonders how greatly the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions will differ – what with the much greater accuracy that the second version of Kinect will afford players.
