It’s been a long time since our initial look at Ground Zeroes, the prologue chapter to Metal Gear Solid 5. Previously we had a glimpse of the game’s introduction, albeit in Japanese.
Today, thanks to Konami; we now have an English version of this intro – Complete with dialogue from Snake’s new voice: Keifer Sutherland (24, The Lost Boys).
Once again the Fox Engine shines, with the intro’s rain-soaked setting really showing off what this new engine can do. While it’s going to take a while to adjust to the new voice of Snake, this new entry is certainly going to usher in a new age for the series.
From this intro, we can see that it takes place a little while after the events of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, with Snake looking to rescue Chico and Paz from some unknown captors. Captors that seem to be branding themselves as “XOF”; the opposite of Snake’s “FOX” operation.
What do you think of Snake’s new voice?
