Sharknados Strike GTA V’s Los Santos?

by on October 4, 2013

Grand Theft Auto V’s version of San Andreas is a dangerous enough place when all you have to worry about on land is crooked FBI agents and a plethora of psychopaths, but now possibly sharks as well?

Anyone who has gone for a swim off the game’s west coast will have come face to face with a Great White already, but many gamer’s are starting to spot sharks on land as well – leading some to assume there’s some kind of reference to Sharknado going on.

For those that don’t know, a Sharknado is “a rotating column of air ranging in width from a few yards to more than a mile and whirling at destructively high speeds, usually accompanied by a funnel-shaped downward extension of a cumulonimbus cloud” WITH SHARKS.

It’s also a so-bad-its-good b-movie made for television that captured the world’s imagination earlier this year when it debuted in the States on the SyFy channel.

Anyway – a number of players have seen the phenomena, posting videos  and pictures like the one below of what they saw.

So is it a Sharknado Easter egg or simply a glitch with a relevance to recent pop culture history that makes a bit funny?

It’s a glitch. Definitely a glitch.
