Velocity Ultra coming to PlayStation 3 next week

Shmup fans! Enjoying Velocity Ultra on your PlayStation Vita? Want a bigger screen attached to your vertical-shooter goodness? Good news: In a press release, Curve Digital has announced that Velocity Ultra will be available on PlayStation 3 consoles on November 12 in NA and November 13th in EU via the PSN store.

Though this version is developed by Curve Studios, they have been working very closely with FuturLab to bring the same award-winning experience to full-size televisions in glorious HD. In fact, the release of this iteration coincides with FuturLab’s 10th anniversary as a development studio — this will be the first time that one of their games is appearing on a home console.

James Marsden, Managing Director of FuturLab, has some words about this release:

“After the amazing reception of the Vita version, we were really eager to allow as many people to get their hands on our nippy little Quarp Jet as possible. Working with Curve has allowed us to make that a reality, and I’m proud to say the PlayStation 3 version maintains every inch of the speed, excitement and quality of the Vita original.”
