Onslaught DLC For COD: Ghosts Gets A New Narrative Trailer

by on January 24, 2014

The first downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts will launch next week as a timed exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers. Onslaught will be available via Xbox LIVE on January 28, and will include four new multiplayer maps, a new weapon and the first episode in a new narrative mode known as Extinction, with the first episode being entitled Nightfall.

The four maps included in the pack are Fog, Bayview, Containment and Ignition, with the new weapon being the Maverick Assualt Rifle and Sniper Rifle. The main focus of the DLC though is Extinction, which will offer a new story-based campaign with a new instlallment accompanying each new chunk of DLC. Here is a taster of what to expect from Nightfall:

Anchoring this first content pack is Episode 1: Nightfall, the first installment in Extinction’s four-part episodic narrative. At a remote facility in the Alaskan wilderness, the shadowy Nightfall Program has been researching the origins of the “Alien” threat. When the scientists lose control, a small team of elite soldiers must retrieve the intel and exterminate hordes of savage creatures while surviving a three-story tall terror unlike anything they’ve faced before. Featuring two all-new species of aliens and an exclusive weapon. Episode 1: Nightfall is a fast & frenetic, action-packed continuation of the Extinction experience.

The DLC packs for Call of Duty games have certainly taken a turn for the better since they decided to focus on story-based add-ons, as well as the more traditional map packs – many featuring famous actors such as Sarah Michelle Gellar of Buffy fame and Machete himself, Danny Trejo. More details of all the maps and extras included in the Onslaught DLC can be found at the official website for the add-on here.
